Being raised the son of a dentist taught me early on the importance of being honest and responsive to the needs of clients, as well as doing the necessary planning to ensure a solid retirement.

I entered the financial services industry in 1986 with E.F. Hutton & Co. in Sun City, AZ. Working in Sun City, a retirement community, afforded me the experience of learning the significance of proper planning so that one will not outlive their income or assets.

Over the years I have taken numerous courses to improve myself and the job I do for you. My training has included: “Advanced Investing” by William O’Neil editor of Investor’s Business Daily newspaper; “Broker Institute in Point & Figure Methodology” and the “Advanced Broker Institute in Point & Figure Methodology” by Dorsey, Wright & Associates. I have also attended the Branch Management Leadership Institute taught by The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in association with the Securities Industry Association.

I have worked in many facets of the financial services field including retail brokerage and bank brokerage. Furthermore, I was a manager for McDonald Investments and oversaw their branch network covering the state of Utah. These various positions have given me useful insight into the financial advice business from varying viewpoints.

I hold or have held many different licenses in this business including: Series 63 -- State Securities, Series 7 -- General Securities, Series 9/10 -- Supervision of Options and General Securities Sales, Series 3 -- Commodities and Futures. I also have a Life & Health Insurance license.

Currently, I am on the Board of Trustees for the Catholic Foundation of Utah and am a member of their Investment Committee. I have also served on the Board of Trustees for Utah Opera. I have been an active volunteer with Easter Seals, and have also coached several youth sports teams, as well as volunteer activities in my church.

My hobbies include sailing, skiing, cooking, astronomy and motorcycles.
